Lines, Vines, and Successful Times

Please don't run away when you read the title. I'm sure there are tons and tons of you reading just the title, and then closing the window. However, to those of you faithful readers who have continued on, thanks.

Basically, yes, I am writing a review for the Jonas Brothers' new album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times. It was released at midnight, and already at 6:45 AM when I was eating breakfast it had over 700 reviews on iTunes. Curious, I took a listen. And boy, did I hear what my ear's weren't ready to hear.

It's great. A lot different than their other albums. They actually sound like a band, not the mainstream pop that Disney has warped them into. Every song has a meaning that you can relate to, the strings and the horns are brilliantly blended with Joe and Nick's voices, and it's just a fun record to listen to. At first when I heard "What did I do to your Heart" I thought, "ew, country-pop." However, the full song just sounds great. I presume it's because of Nick's voice going so well with the strings. I am so pleased with how much they surprised their fans. The only one song I'm not a fan of, and probably won't ever be is "Before the Storm", which is sung by Nick and Miley Cyrus. Seriously, a song about their breakup at 14 years old? No thanks. But hey, it gets all the teeny boppers crazy, so whatever.

But honestly, I strongly suggest you give this album a chance. Especially to the people who disfavored their other two albums, because this one is purely a new sound. Perfect for the summer, a person with a good taste in music, and of course, a teenaged girl's attempt to mend her broken heart.
